Benessere farms 30 acres of estate vineyard surrounding the winery in the St. Helena appellation. Varietals planted are:  Sangiovese, Moscato di Canelli, Sagrantino, Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon.  Fruit for our Pinot Noir and Pinto Grigio is sourced from vineyards in the Carneros region, and the Aglianico is from the neighboring Collins' vineyard.

2012 John's Promise Estate Red Blend  - $75.00

2012 John's Promise Estate Red Blend

WINE CLUB MEMBER EXCLUSIVE - Released on June 21, 2014

"We celebrate our 20th harvest with this inaugural release of John's Promise.  An estate-grown, Cabernet Sauvignon-based blend, this wine embodies that promise.  It’s densely structured with blackberry fruit flavors complemented by hints of mocha and clove that linger on the finish." - John Benish

2013 Rosato  - $18.00

2013 Rosato

Expectations were high for the 2013 vintage, following the success of 2012, and Mother Nature did not disappoint. Warm spring weather led to an early bloom, and the lack of rainfall during the period allowed the vines to set another beautiful crop. The vines ripened their fruit early, retaining bright acidity and beautiful flavors at relatively low sugars.

2012 Pinot Grigio  - $22.00

2012 Pinot Grigio

After two years marked by cool and damp, 2012 was literally a burst of sunshine. The vines responded to the light harvest of 2011 with a large crop of excellent grapes. Winemakers throughout Napa Valley were delighted to face the problem of insufficient tank space, otherwise known as too much of a good thing.

2009 Sangiovese  - $32.00

2009 Sangiovese

Sangiovese is excellent on its own or paired with food. It has an exuberant personality that lends itself to complementing lighter dishes like seafood or poultry as well as more hearty dishes of beef and lamb.

2010 Black Glass Zinfandel  - $32.00

2010 Black Glass Zinfandel

Cool temperatures in 2010 led to a long growing season.  A post-verasion heat spike briefly accelerated ripening before cooler than normal temperatures returned, allowing the grapes to ripen at their leisure and develop particularly deep complexity.

2012 Collins Holystone Zinfandel  - $35.00

2012 Collins Holystone Zinfandel

Grapes for our Old Vines Zinfandel come from the vineyard of our longtime neighbors on Big Tree Road, Bill and Kathy Collins. These ancient, gnarly vines, planted on a cobbley hump in 1923, have been lovingly farmed by the Collinses for the last forty years.

2011 Sorridente (wine club only)  - $50.00

2011 Sorridente

The name means "smiling", and this wine will put one on your face.  Ageworthy structure and lively ripe finish.  Bright red, with distinctive sweet, toasty aromas and plummy flavors. A blend composition of 50 % Merlot, 38 % Aglianico and 12 % Syrah.

2009 Sagrantino  - $50.00

2009 Sagrantino

Sagrantino is a dark-skinned varietal originated in the Montefalco region of Umbria, Italy.  There are only 5 acres of Sagrantino planted in California, 20% are from our half acre grown at Benessere. We are fortunate to produce 100 to 150 cases annually, for club selections.

2009 Phenomenon  - $50.00

2009 Phenomenon

We blend Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot, and Syrah to produce Phenomenon. The intensely flavored, concentrated wine is a testament to the special terroir to our estate vineyard. Although delicious now, this wine is still very young and will continue to evolve and gain complexity with time.
