Pinot Noir is called Pinot Nero in the Alto Adige region of Italy where it makes elegant and graceful wines with lovely perfume. Our Pinot Nero comes from the Mueller-McKenzie vineyard in Carneros, where Bob Mueller grows small-berried, intensely flavored fruit.

Our 2008 Pinot Nero is full of ripe cherry and cranberry aromas with overtones of spice, rose petals and wood smoke. Flavors are bright at entry, deepening to a lush vanilla-tinged mid-palate and lingering through the silky finish. Pair this wine with savory pasta, barbecued salmon, or marinated skirt steak. It will gain complexity in the bottle for four to seven years.
