The 2015 growing season started early in Napa Valley. As California entered its fourth year of drought, we were fortunate to receive spring rains sufficient to fill our reservoir and saturate the soil. Consistent sun and warmth throughout the growing season led to an early crop of high-quality grapes.
The four varieties were hand-picked and fermented separately with gentle fermentation techniques resulting in wine of great depth and complexity. We selected the finest barrels of each lot to create the Phenomenon blend. The wine matured for 20 months in new and once-used French oak barrels before bottling.
A full spectrum of red, blue and blackberry aromas with hints of cocoa persist on the palate, with notes of rhubarb and Rainier cherry. The wine is soft and lush with smooth tannins, good length, and a complex finish.
This wine is delicious and developed now, but will continue to evolve for 3-5 more years. Enjoy through 2028.
This versatile wine would be wonderful alongside a Florentine steak, lasagna or a roasted pork shoulder
